Map the Main Bearings Before Assembly

First, locate the identifying marks on the crankshaft and engine cases. Then, use those marks to determine the required bearing positions.

Crankshaft Bearing Installation Checks

Before fitting the bearings, clean the crankshaft journals and bearing locations. Also, keep each mapped bearing in its assigned position.

Next, check the oil clearance using the Polaris specifications. After assembly, verify that the crankshaft moves as directed in the service procedure.
