Disappointing experience. Component failure on first start & unhonored warranty. I paid REV6 Powersports nearly $3,000 for a complete engine overhaul. On the very first start attempt, the engine failed to run. A professional inspection by a local certified shop revealed that both the crankshaft woodruff key and the water pump shaft had completely sheared. Despite following all installation, torque, and pre-lube instructions perfectly, REV6 refused to assist with the repair costs. They advertise a 1-year "no-fault, no-questions-asked" warranty, but in reality, they denied coverage for both the $1,600.00 in labor and the $954.34 in replacement parts. It is completely unreasonable to pay over $2,500 out-of-pocket to repair a brand-new, freshly rebuilt $3,000 motor that never even fired. Buyer beware: their "no-fault" warranty offers no actual protection if your engine fails immediately. I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

Response from the owner:Thank you for the feedback Tim. We’re sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience, but we would like to clarify some important details regarding the warranty process and the repairs described in this review. When you initially contacted us, the conversation concerned a potential timing issue. Our team asked you to let us know what was found regarding the timing and to provide pictures so we could continue evaluating the concern. Unfortunately, we did not receive the requested follow-up before additional repairs were performed. Rather than returning the engine to Rev6 or allowing our team to complete the warranty evaluation, you worked directly with the dealer and authorized the additional repairs they recommended. Those repairs, including the associated labor and replacement parts, were completed without us first inspecting the engine or authorizing those expenses. Unfortunately, there were turnkey parts that were damaged during this repair. Additionally, while turnkey parts are not covered under our standard warranty, if the engine had been returned to us for warranty service and it was determined that a turnkey component was damaged as a direct result of our warranty repair, we would have reviewed those circumstances with the customer and discussed an appropriate resolution. Because the engine was repaired by a third party before being returned to Rev6 for evaluation, we were not given the opportunity to inspect the engine, determine the cause of the damage, or have those discussions before the additional expenses were incurred. We understand how frustrating it is to experience a problem immediately after an engine installation. Had we been given the opportunity to continue diagnosing the original concern and evaluate the engine through our warranty process before outside repairs were authorized, we could have determined what assistance was available under the warranty.

Rzr 1000 xp motor ordered 1.5 months later it arrived and installed. Started it up the 1st time and instant misfiring, ran bad. Checked timing, injectors, intake boots, nothing wrong there. Checked compression and 1 cylinder has 110 psi and the other 165 psi. The 110 cylinders spark plug is covered in oil.. Received engine on Nov 20th. Had a turkey ride paid for starting the 23rd of Nov through the 29th. Got motor finally installed the morning of our departure and bam suckered punched, Bad motor. Thousands of dollars spent for nothing, vacation ruined. You would expect a new rebuilt motor to be tested and qc'd before being shipped. I'm truly devastated 😢. Update on this i shipped engine back for warranty work which they paid for and still waiting for them to contact me about it. Shipped out Dec 3 2020 and as of today Dec 15 2020 still nothing. Will update as thing move along. Update I did receive engine and it works great this time around. It's been 6 months since install and it's still going strong. So I'm happy now. I know things happen but atleast they care of it over all. So 4 stars as of now. Last update 2026. I put about 500 total miles on the machine since I installed the engine in Dec 2020. I have to say it always used a lot of oil during every ride(about 2 quarts per short ride about 50 miles per ride)but since I barely ride I didn’t care I was just happy that it ran good. But now it’s so bad it eat a quart every 10 miles of riding. So I just took the engine out and dismantled it and to my surprise every bearing was shot and the pistons have a crap ton of ring wash on them with skirt wear. I’m babied this thing since new and installed a s&b particle separator at the time of engine install along with oil changes and air filters after every ride.fact this is a 2014 Rzr 1000 do that still looks brand new. So the verdict is they didn’t set the rings correctly on install which caused everything else to fail. 2 stars only. I also called them to order the bearing and seal kit and they had no record of the engine that they built as far as parts they used on it. Just that I paid for it in Dec 2020 and it was to old to look up. Wtf 1 star

Response from the owner:Thank you for the feedback John. We’re sorry to see your experience ultimately resulted in a one-star review, especially after the engine was returned to us under warranty in 2020, repaired, and—as you noted in your previous update—was running well six months later. We do want to provide some context for your most recent update. Your original engine purchase and warranty service occurred nearly 6 years ago. Our standard warranty is one year from the original ship date, so unfortunately we cannot determine the cause of an engine issue occurring this many years after the warranty period based solely on its current condition. Factors such as time in service, operating conditions, maintenance, installation, lubrication, and other components can all affect an engine over its lifespan. We also understand your frustration that our team could not retrieve the detailed build information from your 2020 engine when you recently contacted us for parts. Like most businesses, Rev6 has upgraded and changed software and database systems over the years. During system and database migrations, some older detailed records may not transfer into the current system. While we still had a record of your purchase, the specific build and parts information from a job completed nearly 6 years ago was no longer available. Most importantly, when there was a problem during your original warranty period, we paid to have the engine returned, completed the warranty work, and sent it back to you. Your own earlier update noted that the repaired engine “works great,” was still going strong six months later, and that we took care of the issue overall. We appreciate that you've kept us updated over the years, and we're sorry we weren't able to provide the historical build information you were looking for this time. We wish you the best in getting your RZR back up and running.
