Description
Engine Rebuild Kit for 2008-2010 Polaris Dragon 800
Use the Polaris Dragon 800 rebuild kit when the engine needs a crankshaft and pistons but the existing cylinder remains reusable. First, inspect and measure the cylinder to confirm the correct rebuild level.
Important $150 Crankshaft Core Fee
The purchase price includes a $150 crankshaft core fee. Send your good crankshaft core to REV6 for a refund. However, contact our team first if the original core has major damage or missing parts.
What This Kit Includes
- Crankshaft
- Complete Gasket Kit
- (2) Wrist Pin Needle Bearings
- Water Pump Seal
- (2) Moly-Coated Cast Pistons – Standard Stock
Check the Existing Cylinder
Next, inspect the cylinder for scoring, taper, and out-of-round wear. Also, verify piston clearance and ring end gap before assembly. Do not install the pistons in a cylinder that falls outside its service limits.
Inspect the Crankcase
Check the crankcase, bearing areas, and sealing surfaces for wear or damage. Then follow the required crankshaft checks, clearances, seal steps, and torque values during assembly.
Compare the Dragon 800 Repair Options
If the crankshaft remains reusable and the repair only needs pistons and top-end gaskets, compare the Polaris Dragon 800 Top End Rebuild Kit for 2008-2010 Models.
However, if the pistons, cylinder, and crankshaft remain reusable, review the Polaris Dragon RMK 800 Top End Gasket Set for 2008-2010 Models.
Assembly and Break-In
Before startup, check piston direction, gasket placement, oil, and bolt torque. Then follow the correct startup steps. Finally, complete the recommended break-in before long pulls or heavy engine load.
Review the REV6 Core Program for general core information. REV6 also covers this kit with a 1-year parts warranty. If you have core or fitment questions, contact the REV6 team.
