Description
2016–2021 Can-Am Defender HD8 Engine Rebuild by REV6
When your Can-Am Defender HD8 engine needs internal rebuilding, REV6 provides a complete teardown, inspection, and remanufacturing process. Our technicians evaluate the crankshaft, cylinders, cylinder heads, pistons, valve train, and engine cases before completing the required work.
Each engine is rebuilt using inspected OEM components wherever they remain suitable. Worn components are refurbished or replaced according to the condition of your engine core.

Rebuild Note: This is a general outline of REV6 engine rebuilding procedures. The specific work performed may vary based on the condition and requirements of your Defender HD8 engine core.
OEM Component Inspection and Reuse
REV6 inspects original engine components to determine which parts can be restored and reused. Components that meet the required specifications may remain in the rebuild, while worn or damaged parts receive the necessary repair or replacement.
This approach allows our technicians to evaluate each engine individually rather than applying the same replacement list to every core.
Double Inspection Quality Control
Our master technicians assemble the rebuilt engine before a second master technician performs the final inspection. This double-inspection process provides an additional quality control check before shipment.
REV6 brings more than 60 years of combined powersports industry experience to its rebuilding and inspection work.
Can-Am Defender HD8 Engine Core Requirements
An engine core is required for this rebuild. You can provide your original Defender HD8 engine or pay a refundable $1,200 core charge.
If you pay the core charge, REV6 inspects your returned engine to determine refund eligibility. A qualifying core in acceptable condition may receive a full refund under the applicable core return requirements.
Customers with qualifying cores may also have exchange options available that allow them to receive an engine before returning their original core without paying the standard refundable core charge. Contact REV6 to discuss eligibility and availability.
