Can-Am Defender HD8 Engine (2016–2021)

The Can-Am Defender HD8 Engine from REV6 is built to be as good as new—or even better. Designed for all 2016–2021 Defender HD8 models, this engine is built for durability, performance, and long-term reliability. Every build goes through our rigorous double inspection process to ensure your engine meets our high standards before it leaves the shop.

Your new REV6 rebuild includes:

• Standard No-Fault 1-year warranty with an optional 2-year No-Fault Warranty upgrade.
• We restore and reuse as many OEM parts as possible. We inspect and refurbish all OEM parts to guarantee high quality internals that keep your machine running reliably.
• All components are cleaned, dismantled, inspected and repaired as needed.
• Cylinder heads inspected, cleaned, sandblasted, decked, shimmed to manufacturer spec and undergoes a quality inspection.
• Valve guides inspected and replaced as needed.
• High-temperature valve stem seals installed.
• Valves and valve seats are recut/refaced to ensure tight seal, verified with vacuum test.
• Camshafts lobes and journals cleaned and polished, replaced as needed.
• Refurbished crankshaft.
• New high babbitt crankshaft and rod bearings.
• Cylinders are inspected for damage, bored and honed to the next oversize or replated.
• Pistons replaced with a new pistons and rings.
• Timing chain inspected for stretch and wear, replaced as needed.
• Refurbished oil pump assembly.
• Fully inspected engine cases, tested for cracks, holes, or excessive wear.
• All gaskets and seals replaced.
• Engine assembled and torqued to manufacturer specifications.

Once your engine passes our quality control inspection, we will ship your new Rev6 rebuilt engine back to you! Our engines undergo a thorough multiple inspections by master technicians and pass a stringent quality control process. We have over 60+ years of combined experience in the power sports industry.

Lead Time:

Engines typically ship within 5 to 10 days of order. For more accurate lead times, please give us a call.

Our master technicians assemble your engine, then a second master technician inspects it before shipment. This double-inspection guarantee means your engine arrives better than factory fresh. We back every build with nationwide shipping and a 1-year warranty, with the option to upgrade to our 2-year no-fault coverage for complete peace of mind.

Core Exchange Information:

To receive the Rev6 engine, you will need to provide your old core or pay a refundable core charge of $1200.00. If your core is in good condition, the charge is fully refundable! If you have a good core to return, please give us a call. We also offer alternatives if you would like to avoid paying the refundable core charge and would like the new engine first, but this only applies to customers with a qualifying core for exchange.
