Make Sure the Cylinders Can Be Reused

Inspect both cylinders before installing the new piston kits. Look for scoring, abnormal wear, or surface damage, then measure the bores to confirm they remain within specification. A fresh piston should not be used to compensate for a worn or damaged cylinder.

Check Ring Fit Before Assembly

Verify the required ring end gap and piston-to-cylinder clearance during the rebuild. Also confirm piston orientation, ring position, and wrist pin bearing installation before putting the cylinders back in place.
