Check the Valve Guides Before Installation

First, inspect the valve stems and guides for wear. Next, measure the stem-to-guide clearance. Worn guides can allow oil into the combustion chamber even after installing new seals.

Install the Seals Carefully

Use the proper tool to fit each seal without damaging its sealing edge. Also, check that every seal sits at the correct depth before assembling the valve train.
