Polaris RZR 900 Engine Rebuild Service (2011–2012 Models)

The early RZR 900 models are still solid machines, but after years of use, internal wear starts to show up—hard starts, lower compression, and a noticeable drop in performance. A full rebuild brings everything back into proper working condition.

At REV6, we go through the engine completely. Every component is inspected, corrected, and reassembled so the engine runs smoothly again without the guesswork of piecing repairs together.

What Gets Rebuilt

This process focuses on restoring sealing, clearances, and overall engine function.

• Complete teardown and inspection of all components
• Cylinder head rebuilt, cleaned, decked, and shimmed to specification
• Exhaust valve guides upgraded with manganese bronze material
• Intake valve guides inspected and replaced as needed
• Valves and seats recut and vacuum tested for proper sealing
• Camshaft lobes and journals cleaned, polished, and inspected
• Crankshaft verified within OEM tolerances
• New high-babbitt main and rod bearings installed
• Cylinders inspected and reconditioned to restore proper finish
• New moly-coated pistons and rings installed
• Timing chain and oil chain inspected and serviced
• Refurbished oil pump assembly
• Engine cases inspected and machined where needed
• All gaskets and seals replaced
• Final assembly torqued to factory specifications

What You’ll Notice After the Rebuild

With proper sealing and corrected tolerances, the engine starts easier, idles cleaner, and pulls more consistently. Restoring compression and oil control makes a noticeable difference across the entire powerband.
