Inspect the Complete Timing System
Check the chain guides, tensioner, and camshaft sprockets before installation. Worn related parts can affect chain control even when a new cam chain is installed.
During assembly, align the crankshaft and camshaft timing marks to the correct Can-Am specifications. Then, rotate the engine by hand and verify the timing marks again before startup.
