Description
2017–2024 Polaris General 1000 Engine Rebuilding by REV6
Your Polaris General 1000 handles everything from work around the property to weekend trail riding. When internal engine wear affects its operation, REV6 can rebuild the engine rather than replacing individual components without addressing the rest of the assembly.
Our technicians disassemble and inspect the engine, rebuild the cylinder head, verify crankshaft tolerances, and address cylinder and piston wear. Each completed engine receives a second technician inspection before approval.

Manganese Bronze Exhaust Guides and Cylinder Head Rebuilding
The General 1000 cylinder head is cleaned, inspected, rebuilt, and set to the required specifications. REV6 upgrades the exhaust valve guides with manganese bronze material.
Valve sealing surfaces are corrected and verified during rebuilding. Camshaft components are also cleaned and inspected, with additional work performed as needed.
Crankshaft Inspection, Bearings and New Pistons
REV6 checks the crankshaft against OEM tolerances and installs new high-babbitt main and connecting rod bearings.
The cylinders are evaluated and reconditioned to restore the required surface finish. New moly-coated pistons and rings are installed during the rebuild.
Two-Technician Engine Inspection
One REV6 technician assembles your General 1000 engine. A second technician inspects the completed assembly before it is approved for shipment.
This additional inspection helps verify the rebuilding work and final assembly before the engine leaves REV6.
Polaris General 1000 Engine Core Program
An engine core is required. You can send your original Polaris General 1000 engine to REV6 or select the refundable $1,500 core charge option.
Returned cores are inspected to determine refund eligibility. Qualifying cores receive refunds according to the applicable core program requirements.
If you need the rebuilt engine before returning your original, ask about available REV6 core exchange options.
Preparing Your Engine Core
Before shipping your engine, review the REV6 Engine Shipping Instructions for preparation and packaging requirements.
