A cracked or worn intake boot can create an air leak near the cylinder head. Therefore, this Master kit includes an OE-style replacement boot so it can be addressed during the top-end rebuild.

• (1) Complete top-end gasket kit
• (1) OE-style replacement intake boot

Inspect the Top End Before Assembly

First, check the cylinder-head surfaces and intake boot mounting area for damage. Next, inspect the valve guides and seats before installing the supplied valves.

• Inspect the cylinder and head mating surfaces
• Inspect the intake and exhaust valve guides
• Check valve-to-seat contact
• Measure piston ring end gap before assembly
• Verify piston direction and valve clearance
