Check More Than the Top End

Cylinder damage can sometimes be a symptom rather than the original problem. Before installing the new top-end components, inspect the connecting rods, crankshaft condition, intake system, and related engine components. Also determine what caused the original damage so the same issue does not affect the fresh rebuild.

During assembly, verify piston orientation, ring placement, clearances, and gasket surfaces. Keep the crankcase protected from dirt and debris while the cylinders are removed.

Do You Need the Complete Kit?
