Core Program

Core Exchange Program

Most of our customers take advantage of our Core Exchange Program. When you purchase a remanufactured engine, transmission, or cylinder head, your old core helps us recycle quality components and keep costs down—earning you a full refund through our refundable core charge program. You also have the option to just send in your used core for cash. If you have any questions about our core program, give our customer service department a call.

What is a Core?

Your core is the original engine, transmission, or cylinder your machine came with. We use these cores to rebuild engines, better than from the factory. To get a quote on your core, fill out this form. To qualify for cash or to participate in our core exchange program your core’s main components must be rebuildable. We can’t accept ported, modified, or aftermarket cases, heads, or cylinders.

Core Exchange Program:

Our industry-leading core program is designed to get you back on the trail as quickly as possible. You’ve got two easy options:

Option 1: Send Your Core First (Preferred)

Ship us your core before your scheduled build date—no core charge required up front. Once it arrives and passes inspection, we’ll drop your build into the next available production slot. If timing doesn’t line up, we’ll simply reschedule to match your timeline.

Option 2: Pay a Refundable Core Charge

If you need your engine now and want to handle the swap once you get your rebuilt engine, simply pay the refundable core charge before your build date. We’ll ship your remanufactured engine or transmission immediately. Once your core is returned and approved, we’ll refund the charge—no hassle (see below for details).

This program gives you the freedom to choose what fits your schedule, while making sure you get full credit for your core.

Refundable Core Program Details:

To receive a full refund on your core, it must be received by REV6 within 30 days of your new core’s shipment. If your core is returned late, the following deductions will apply:
  • 30-60 Days Late: 70% of the eligible refund (30% late fee)
  • 60-90 Days Late: 60% of the eligible refund (40% late fee)
  • 90-120 Days Late: 50% of the eligible refund (50% late fee)
  • Over 120 Days Late: 0% of the eligible refund (no refund)
If your core is more than 120 days old, you’re no longer eligible for a refund. However, REV6 might still be interested in buying your core. Please call us for a quote.

Things you should know if you’re exchanging your core:

  • Your account must be paid in full (either by sending your core or paying the core charge) before REV6 will ship your remanufactured product.
  • To receive a full refund on your core charge, your old engine or transmission (the “core”) must be in a condition that allows us to remanufacture its main parts. This means there should be no major damage to: Cases, Camshafts, or Cylinder Head.
  • All internal components (like balance shaft, crankshaft, connecting rods, camshafts, bolts, washers, valves, etc.) must all be included.
  • If your core is inspected and deemed “good,” we’ll issue a full refund of the core fee using your original payment method.
  • Charges may apply for: Cracked or damaged parts on cores, Missing parts, extensive damage that makes rebuilding the engine or transmission unreasonable.
  • You are still responsible for any damage charges once your core is received, as outlined in the sales agreement.. If REV6 needs to fix a core to make it usable, you must pay any damage invoice within 14 days. If not paid within 30 days, we’ll automatically charge your payment method on file.
  • If REV6 can’t collect the amount due and a balance remains on your account, any warranties related to your purchased product will become void. The warranty can be reinstated once you pay the outstanding balance.
  • Minimum Refund: You’re guaranteed at least 20% of your core fee refund once we receive and inspect your core. Any charges for damaged or missing parts will be deducted from your core fee, and the remaining amount will be refunded.
  • Once you’ve sent your core to REV6, we cannot return it to you for any reason, even if you decide to cancel your order. If you send in your core and then cancel, REV6 will purchase the core from you based on its condition. We will not ship it back to you.
  • If we don’t receive your core within 30 days, your order will be put on hold until the core arrives. If not arrived within 60 days you will lose your deposit (if applicable)
  • When we receive a core, we immediately inspect it for damage, which involves taking it apart. If your order is canceled after your core is inspected, it will be returned to you in this disassembled state.
  • You can restart a canceled order by paying the full outstanding balance and returning the core to us at your own expense (if it was previously returned to you).
