Description
Restore the Top End of Your Polaris Ranger XP 1000 NorthStar Engine
If your engine has low compression, cylinder damage, worn pistons, or burnt valves, this master top end rebuild kit replaces the major wear components while allowing you to reuse a serviceable bottom end. It’s an excellent choice when the lower end remains within specification but the top end needs a complete refresh.
REV6 upgraded pistons feature a rolled-on Teflon skirt coating that helps reduce friction during cold starts, a hard-anodized crown for improved heat management, machined piston tops to help reduce carbon buildup, and carbon-coated piston rings for added wear resistance. Replacing these components during one teardown helps avoid unnecessary labor later and gives your rebuild a solid foundation.
What This Kit Includes
- New Cylinder
- Top End Gasket Set
- (2) Moly Upgraded Pistons
- (4) Intake Valves
- (4) Exhaust Valves
When Is This the Right Kit?
This kit is a good choice when the cylinder is damaged, compression has dropped, valves no longer seal properly, or the pistons have reached the end of their service life. Replacing these parts together helps ensure the new components wear evenly after assembly.
REV6 Tip: Before installing the new top end, inspect the cam chain, guides, and tensioner. Replacing worn timing components while the engine is apart is far easier than reopening the engine later.
